PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the artificial lawn provided with granular material capable of obtaining the stabilized and appropriate ball speed after a bound of ball and having appropriate slip performance of shoes from the initial time of use. SOLUTION: This artificial lawn is formed by planting lawn yarns 11 in a base cloth 2, coating a back surface of this base cloth 2 with the backing material 3 so as to fix the lawn yarn 11, and filling the granular material between the planted lawn yarn 11 so as to provide a granular material layer 4. Projection surface area ratio from an upper side of the lawn yarns 11 projected from the granular material layer 4 is set at 60 % or more, and an angle formed by the projected lawn yarns 11 and the surface layer of the granular material is set at 0-45 degree.
