PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a prepreg improved in smoothness and capable of well being wound on a mandrel by impregnating reinforcing fibers from top and bottom with respective resins different in viscosity from each other to form a prepreg, by superimposing a film on one surface and superimposing a mold release paper on the other surface and by winding the prepreg in a roll-like state. SOLUTION: When impregnating reinforcing fibers such as carbon fibers with resins (preferably bisphenol-type epoxy resin) obtained from a guanidine- based compound and an urea-based compound to form a prepreg, by superimposing a film on one surface and superimposing a mold release paper on the other surface and by winding the prepreg in a roll-like state, the objective prepreg is obtained by setting the viscosity of the resin impregnated from the film side higher than the resin impregnated from the mold release paper side. Viscosities of resins impregnated from the film side and the mold release paper side preferably are respectively 2,500-3,000 Pa.s and 1,500-2,000 Pa.s in dynamic viscoelastic measurement at 0.5 Hz and 120 deg.C.
