PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a take-up machine capable of easily extracting a belt shaped work taken up over the outer circumference of a core out of the top of the core without causing dislocation in winding and damage at its center part. SOLUTION: A core 32 for taking up a belt shaped work 54 is so constituted that two winding tabular pieces 34 and 35 are mutually piled up so as to be formed into a flat shape as a whole, and the relative slide of the winding piece 34 in the width direction with respect to the other winding piece 35, thereby allows winding width W1 to be contracted. The core 32 is so packaged as to be mounted to/demounted from a position in between paired rotating shafts 22 and 27 faced to each other over an identical axial line. Further, a holding mechanism 30 for holding the core 32 in a state that the winding width W1 is extended is provided for the tip ends of both the rotating shaft 22 and 27.
