PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting tool insert colored to distinguish grades according to colors by improving elastic deformation resistance and durability against dispersion-type crater abrasion of hard metal at a blade tip, and heightening exfoliation resistance to reduce a comb-like crack volume during milling. SOLUTION: A rake face and at least one flank cross with each other to constitute a blade tip. This cutting tool insert consists of hard metal, titanium group carbonitride, or ceramic, and is coated with a hard coating multilayer structure with two kinds of MX layers and NX layers including metal oxide laminated alternately. Metal elements M and N are selected from aluminum, zirconium, titanium, hafnium, and chromium. A repeating period of the multilayer structure is 20 nm or more and 200 nm or less, desirably 190 nm or less, and most desirably 175 nm or less. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
