PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a lubricating oil composition for achieving all of friction properties, abrasion resistance, sludge control and precipitation prevention at a high level in good balance. SOLUTION: The lubricating oil composition comprises at least one kind of a base oil selected from a mineral oil, oils and fats and a synthetic oil and an ester of a polyhydric alcohol and a fatty acid. The ester comprises both a first partial ester having an esterification degree of 1 and a second partial ester having an esterification degree of≥2. The content of the first partial ester is 10-70 mol% and the content of the second partial ester is 30-90 mol% based on the total of the contents of the first and the second partial esters.
