PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the gas barrierness of an air permeation preventing layer of a pneumatic tire and improve the designing flexibility of the tire by coloring the air permeation preventing layer in a thermochromic manner. SOLUTION: The rubber composition comprises: (1) 100 pts.wt. of a rubber component composed of (i) 70-100 wt.% halogenated butyl rubber and (ii) 0-30 wt.% one or more rubbers selected from natural rubber, polybutadiene rubber and styrene-butadiene rubber; and (2) 1-15 pts.wt. of a thermochromic staple fiber produced by the melt-spinning of a vinylidene chloride resin composition containing thermochromic particles containing a thermochromic substance encapsulated in microcapsules.
