PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tableware washing means having excellent inhibitory effect on water spot formation. SOLUTION: The method for washing tableware comprises washing tableware by using a cleaning liquid that is composed of 2-30ppm of a polymer compound having a cationic group-containing monomer constituent unit and an anionic group-containing monomer constituent unit, the molar ratio (total number of mols of cationic group)/(total number of mols of anionic group) of 30/70-90/10 and an enzyme and has pH 9.0-12.0 at 20°C.
