PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new Nb compound suitable for forming a Pb(Zr, Ti, Nb)O<SB>3</SB>membrane which is a ferroelectric material having a perovskite structure by CDV method for feeding a raw material by means of solution vaporization and provide a method for producing the same and a raw material solution using the Nb compound for forming the Pb(Zr, Ti, Nb)O<SB>3</SB>membrane. SOLUTION: The new compound niobium tetraalkoxy diisobutyryl methanate Nb(OR)<SB>4</SB>(dibm) (wherein R expresses a 1-4C straight chain or branched alkyl) is produced by heating and refluxing 1 mol niobium pentaalkoxide and 1 mol diisobutyryl methane in an inactive hydrocarbon solvent, removing the solvent and unreacted raw materials, subsequently distilling the reaction solution. The new Nb compound is used as the raw material solution for forming the Pb(Zr, Ti, Nb)O<SB>3</SB>membrane by CDV method in which the raw material is fed by means of solution vaporization.
