PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain animal repellent granules having a significantly reduced manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: The animal repellent granules 10 are produced by mixing charcoal powder with one or more kinds of essences of plant essential oil of herb such as citronella, neem or capsaicin having animal repelling properties in a fixed mixing ratio, molding the mixture into a granular shape and drying the granules at a temperature equal to or lower than the volatilization temperature of the essence of plant essential oil of herb. When the animal repellent granules 10 are mixed with colored pigment such as rouge, etc., having a repellent action on a specific animal, the mixture has synergistic animal repellent effect.
