PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toilet seat device which is automatically opened/closed by easily and securely determining the open/close state of a toilet lid and the toilet seat required by a user. SOLUTION: The toilet seat device 31 comprises a human body sensing means 40, an open/close instruction means 46 to set the toilet lid 34 and the toilet seat 35 in a preset state, a toilet lid open/close means 48, a toilet seat open/close means 49, and a manual open/close instruction means 50 for the toilet seat 35. Data on the use state of the toilet lid 34 and the toilet seat 35 determined by the open/close instruction means 46 and the manual open/close instruction means 50 are accumulated in an opening frequency storage part 43. A learning function means 41 for setting the initial state of the toilet seat 35 is composed of the opening frequency storage part 43, a first timer part 42, an opening frequency comparison part 44 for comparing the half of the frequency of opening of the toilet lid and the total frequency of opening of the toilet seat accumulated in the opening frequency storage part 43, and an open/close state setting part 45 for instructing the open/close instruction means 46 to open the toilet seat when the frequency of opening of the toilet seat 35 is large and to close the toilet seat when the frequency of opening of the toilet seat 35 is small based on the data of comparison by the opening frequency comparison part 44.
