PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a threshing apparatus designed to remove rachis-branches from rachis-branches-attached grains contaminated in second tailing grains comprising the rachis-branches-attached grains and waste straw generated in the threshing chamber during the process of returning the second tailing grains into a chamber for treating them. SOLUTION: The threshing apparatus has the following construction and mechanism. As a first means, an elastic member 19b for removing rachis-branches from rachis-branches-attached grains contaminated in second tailing grains is provided on the inner surface of a second tailing grains-elevating cylinder 19. As a second means, an external cover 19f is attached onto the second tailing grains-elevating cylinder 19 side to push the member 19b by the projection 19e of the external cover 19f and project the member 19b inside of the elevating cylinder 19 to form a projection 19h, wherein the position of attaching the external cover 19f is designed to be adjustable so as to be variable in the height of the projection 19h.
