PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably correct color cast with less processing load. SOLUTION: RGB data are converted into a luminance Y and chromaticities C1 and C2, the highlight point and shadow point are obtained, and an axis of a color solid connecting these points is obtained. The axis is subjected to rotational transform so that the axis becomes parallel to a luminance axis Y.
