PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the generation of radiation by detecting a change in a radiation-exposed area when imaging a radiographic image. SOLUTION: The radiation imaging system for imaging the radiographic image of an object is equipped with: a radiation generation part for generating the radiation with which the object is to be irradiated; an optical image imaging part for imaging the optical image of at least a part of the radiation-exposed area irradiated with the radiation generated by the radiation generation part; a change judgement part for judging whether or not the change satisfying a predetermined condition occurs in the radiation-exposed area on the basis of image contents of the optical image imaged by the optical image imaging part; and a control part for inhibiting the generation of the radiation by the radiation generation part when the change judgement part judges that the change satisfying the predetermined condition occurs in the radiation-exposed area.
