A method, system and apparatus for authenticating an access point device. One method for authenticating an access device includes that of: receiving the authentication information transmitted by the access point device; authenticating the access point device. The embodiment of this invention authenticates the access point device according to the authentication information transmitted by the access point device, therefore, the problems due to be lacking of ways for authenticating the access point device in prior art are solved.
