PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for preventing winding on a photoreceptor drum, according to a predicted recording material moisture content.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus capable of forming an image on both surfaces of a recording material includes transfer means for transferring a toner image formed on an image carrier to the recording material by the application of a transfer bias, detection means for detecting a transfer current value generated through the recording material by the application of the transfer bias, separation means for separating the recording material to which the toner image is transferred from the image carrier by the application of a separation bias, fixing means for heating the recording material and fixing the toner image to the recording material, and control means for setting an image formation condition when an image is formed on at least the first surface on the basis of the transfer current value detected when the first surface of the recording material passes through and the transfer current value detected when the second surface opposite to the first surface of the recording material passes through.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
