PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an LED lighting device capable of accommodating a wide range of load voltages, and a lighting fixture.SOLUTION: A power supply circuit 6 supplies a load current to an LED module 2 to be lit. A protection voltage generation circuit 7 generates a protection voltage corresponding to a load voltage of the LED module 2. A control circuit 8 controls the power supply circuit 6 and the protection voltage generation circuit 7. The power supply circuit 6 adjusts a current value of the load current by a switching operation of a switching element Q2. The control circuit 8 changes output characteristics of the protection voltage with respect to the load voltage of the protection voltage generation circuit 7 in accordance with a duty ratio of a switching operation of the power supply circuit 6. If the protection voltage exceeds a threshold, the control circuit 8 controls the power supply circuit 6 to perform a safety operation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
