PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module cage that allows an optical module to be detached from an operating communication device regardless of optical module packing density.SOLUTION: An optical module cage of the present invention includes: an opening into which an optical module is inserted; an elastic piece including an engaging hole that engages with an engagement projection included in the optical module; and a release button that is provided in the opening and releases the engagement projection from the engaging hole by warping the elastic piece.
