PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique which can reduce consumption of a permanent magnet while preventing demagnetization of the permanent magnet.SOLUTION: A rotor 150 comprises main magnetic poles A-D in which a first magnet insertion hole 161 and a second magnet insertion hole 162 are provided in a rotation direction R when viewed in a cross section at the right angle to an axial direction. When thickness and width of a first permanent magnet 171 inserted into the first magnet insertion hole 161 are defined as T1 and W1 respectively, and thickness and width of a second permanent magnet 172 inserted into the second magnet insertion hole 162 are defined as T2 and W2 respectively, the rotor is configured to satisfy √[√(T2/T1)]×W2/W1≥1 (where T1>T2, W2>W1). A slit 166 extending in the radial direction is interposed between a bridge part 163 between the first permanent magnet 171 and the second permanent magnet 172 and an outer peripheral surface 150a of the rotor 150. |
