PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition which can sequester calcium ions and part of which can be obtained from a renewable hydrocarbon raw material.SOLUTION: There is provided a calcium sequestering composition which comprises: 40 wt.% to 60 wt.% of at least one glucarate salt based on the total weight of the hydroxycarboxylate; 5 wt.% to 15 wt.% of at least one gluconate salt; 3 wt.% to 9 wt.% of at least one 5-keto-gluconate salt; 5 wt.% to 10 wt.% of at least one tartrate salt; 5 wt% to 10 wt.% of at least one tartronate salt; 1 wt.% to 5 wt.% of at least one glycolate salt; and 1 wt.% to 50 wt.% of at least one aluminum salt based on the total weight of the composition.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
