FOOD PACKAGE WITH PROTECTIVE BASE

A food tray (1) comprises a side wall module (2) and a bottom (13) detachably attached to the side wall module. The bottom can be removed from the side wall module by the use of a removal means attached to the bottom. The tray further comprises a supplementary base (9) detachably attached to the underside of the bottom (13) and adapted to be removed from the bottom when the bottom is still attached to the side wall module. The supplementary base will thus protect the removable bottom during transportation and handling of the food tray.
