PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin composition for paint capable of forming a coating film excellent in finishing behavior, antifouling property and resistance to cracking of a coated film even in a clear coating film for cold drying use. SOLUTION: This resin composition for paint comprises (A) polymer particles dispersed in an organic solvent obtained by polymerizing a monomer in an organic solvent that does not substantially dissolve the polymer in the presence of a dispersion stabilizing resin having hydroxyl value, (B) a silicone condensate obtained by carrying out a partial hydrolysis and condensation of (i) a functional group including alkoxy silane compound including at least a kind of functional groups selected from a mercapto, epoxy, acryloyl, methacryloyl, vinyl, haloalkyl and amino group, (ii) a tetraalkoxysilane compound and if required (iii) other di or trialkoxysilane compound, and (C) modified polymer particles obtained by bonding the polymer particle (A) and the silicone condensate (B), stably included in an organic solvent.
