PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To specify a special game state outside a game machine by respectively outputting first and second special game state information to the outside of the game machine as special information. SOLUTION: When the simultaneous variation of special picture patterns is started on a variable display device 8, at the same time, a signal of varying special picture patterns is switched ON and signals under variation from the first to the third digits are switched ON. Next, the special picture patterns are stopped in the order of left, middle and right patterns, the signals under variation from the first to the third digits are successively turned off and, at the moment when the signal under variation of the third digit is turned off, the signal of varying special picture pattern is turned off as well. At such a moment, a special picture pattern determination signal is turned on, maintained for longer than a prescribed period, for about 50 ms, for example, and then turned off. Then, a picture pattern data signal and a picture pattern color data signal are outputted and the output is stopped when the special picture pattern determination signal is turned off. This special picture pattern signal is outputted from a testing connector 41 on the side of a display control board 40 to the outside. Thus, the game state can easily be specified at the outside of the game machine.
