PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a demodulator and a communication system with which characteristics are not degraded even on the condition of phase fluctuation caused by fading. SOLUTION: Concerning a demodulator 30 for demodulating a multiplexed data stream for which plural data streams having the same contents are mutually multiplexed with mutual time differences, this demodulator is provided with a phase correcting means 40 for correcting the phase of the multiplexed data stream, a diversity synthesizing means for demultiplexing the multiplexed data stream outputted from the phase correcting means 40 into plural data streams and synthesizing these data streams while recovering the time differences and a viterbi decoding means 60 for performing viterbi decoding to a synthetic signal outputted from the diversity synthesizing means 50.
