摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tracking device that is advantageous for tracking an object at normal temperatures and has a compact and light device system and less expensive device costs. SOLUTION: The quantity of infrared rays entering a plurality of arranged sensors 2, 3, 4, and 5 is compared by comparators 35, 36, 37, and 38. The plurality of sensors 2, 3, 4, and 5 are formed by a material whose electrical resistance changes corresponding to temperature change. With infrared detection by an electrical resistance change, an object can be detected instantly and sensitively by the rapid diffusion of heat, and tracking performance is excellent. Its material is vanadium oxide, and the device needs not be cooled and is less expensive. The device consists of a plurality of regions that are arranged on the image pickup surface of an optical system for picking up the image of a target to be tracked, a plurality of intensity of each of an infrared ray whose image is formed at the plurality of regions 6, 7, 8, and 9 is detected for tracking in real time by a servo signal.
