Gear pump with sealing gap prolongating surfaces

A gear pump delivers a liquid medium and consists of a housing around two gear wheels with interlocking teeth. Each gear wheel rests on a shaft with a slip bearing. One shaft projects beyond the housing and is linked to a drive system. A sealing gap is located between one gear wheel end-face (22) and the slip bearing (16). The sealing gap is extended by further surfaces (30, 39), each with an axial widening with respect to the shaft (3).
