In process and assembly to make iron products iron granules or particles are delivered to a furnace by pneumatic action of a transport gas. The gas is surrendered to the crucible after removal of the transport gas from the particles. The iron particles are discharged to the crucible through two or more separate inlets. The iron particles are introduced either continually or in batches.
