PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolyte having improved ESR characteristics, by suppressing the increase in ESR in an electrolytic capacitor in an aging process, in the electrolytic capacitor in which the separator is made conductive by a conductive polymer. SOLUTION: The electrolytic solution for electrolytic capacitors is constituted, by dipping a conductive separator (D), which is a complex between a conductive polymer (E) that is subjected to p-type doping by a dopant (F) and a separator (G) into an electrolyte and by interposing the conductive separator (D), between positive electrode formation coil and negative electrode foil. The electrolyte contains a constituent (AO), in which the reduction potential measured by a measurement method is -1.6 V to 0 V. In the method for measuring the reduction potential, the constituent (A0) is dissolved, at 0.1 mol/L, into γ-butyrolactone, where tetraethyl ammonium salt tetrafluoroborate is dissolved at 0.23 mol/L as a support electrolyte, and the potential, when a current of -0.2 μA flows, is measured by a convection cyclic voltammetry measurement method, by using a glassy carbon electrode (ϕ1.0 mm) for the working electrode, an (Ag/Ag<SP>+</SP>) electrode as the reference electrode, and a platinum electrode for the counter electrode.
