PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position-detection system, a portable terminal, a position-detecting method and a program thereof that can obtain precise position information, even when a pedestrian stays outdoors. SOLUTION: A database 10 associates tag IDs of wireless tags 2, 5 with the positional information of positions with the wireless tags 2, 5 provided thereat for recording and therewith associates the position information with map information to record the same. The portable terminal 6 receives radio waves from a GPS satellite 7 for obtain the position information. The terminal 6 obtains the tag IDs of the wireless tags 2, 5 by referring to the database 10, and then obtains position information. The terminals 6 obtains, based on at least one of both positional information based on the detabace 10 that are determined from the radio waves received from the GPS satellite 7 and from the tag IDs received from the wireless tags 2, 5, map information, and then displays the same.
