PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the quality of printing on the label surface of a CD, a DVD, etc. SOLUTION: When receiving the setting of the printing, a CPU 110 determines whether or not the set type of paper is the label surface. Consequently, when the paper is the label surface, processing for restricting the appearance of a dot of a high-lightness color is applied to a pixel where a dot of a low-lightness color has already appeared, during halftone processing.
