PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device capable of recording audio and video, and surely carrying out the field angle settings of a camera at photographing, independently of the operating mode. SOLUTION: The recording device 1 is placed on a desk 34 of an audience seat on the front row, in relation to a lecturer 33 with a soap box 31 in the front and an explanation board 32 at the back. A user (not shown) of the recording device 1 takes its seat at a position, at which the user can easily apply touch operation to a touch type input device 7 of a body section 2 of the recording device 1, and a recording mode of the recording device 1 is set, in advance, to a recording/photographic mode by a touch operation. A revolving body section 6 of the recording device 1 is raised and erected at a proper angle from the main body section 2, and an imaging section 4 is turned and a photographic lens window, located in the middle, is directed to the lecturer 33 and the explanation board 32. In this state, the recording device 1 records voice and a video image of the lecturer 33. The user, after the end of the lecture, displays the video image on an LCD 9 and reproduces it, while reproducing the recorded voice from an omnidirectional loudspeaker 8 and hearing it.
