摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a range image sensor capable of making appropriate the amount of light received per each region of an object space and measuring distances regardless of distances to objects or reflectivity. SOLUTION: The range image sensor includes both a light emission source 2 for irradiating light to the object space and a photo-detection element 1 having a plurality of photo-sensitive parts 11 for imaging the object space. The photo-sensitive parts 11 receive light from the object space and generate electric charge according to the amount of light received. During the period of distance measurement, the light emission source 2 irradiates the object space with intensity-modulated light of prescribed intervals, and an image generating part 3 generates range images through the use of electric charge generated at each photo-sensitive part 11. A filter element 6 can individually adjust transmissivity of light incident from the object space and maintain constant transmissivity during the period of distance measurement. The image generating part 3 irradiates light to the object space from the light emission source 2 during the period of environment measurement which has been set prior to the period of distance measurement and adjusts the transmissivity of a region corresponding to each photo-sensitive part 11 in the direction reducing the difference in the amount of electric charge acquired at each photo-sensitive part 11.
