PURPOSE: An apparatus which can confirm whether an e-mail is arrived and transfer an e-mail without using a computer and a modem and a method thereof are provided. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for transferring an e-mail using a hand phone and an e-mail server includes; a first transferring part (200) for converting an e-mail to a voice data after confirming whether the hand phone is authorized when the e-mail addressed to the hand phone is received at the e-mail server and transferring the voice data to the hand phone; and a second transferring part (202) for converting the voice data generated from the hand phone to a text data and for transferring the text data to the e-mail server, wherein the first transferring part includes a user profile memory part (202) for storing information of authorized users, an automatic calling part for automatically calling the hand phone when the hand phone is authorized, a text/voice converting part for converting the text into the voice, and a controlling part (208) for controlling the automatic calling par to transfer the converted voice to the authorized hand phone. Therefore, according to the apparatus, it is possible to transfer an e-mail to the user without using a computer and a modem.
