PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely sort predetermined packets even when the traffic of input packets increases in a packet sorter for distributing and outputting input IP packets by the kinds. SOLUTION: Upon receiving the IP packet (step S1), whether or not an area for storing the IP packet to be received next can be acquired from a buffer 11b for IP packet reception is determined (steps S3 and S4), and when acquired, the received IP packet is transmitted to a high-order task (steps S6 and S7).
