<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereoscopic image generation method capable of generating a stereoscopic image which gives a natural three-dimensional feeling to a viewer from an original image, and to provide a stereoscopic image generation system. <P>SOLUTION: A stereoscopic image generation method comprises: a feature information acquisition step of acquiring feature information of respective pixels; a depth information generation step of generating depth information for the respective pixels based on the feature information; and a stereoscopic image generation step of generating a stereoscopic image based on the depth information. The depth information generation step sets an edge between a pair of pixels, sets weight information in the edge based on the feature information, selects a start pixel from the respective pixels, calculates routing information using the weight information from the start pixels to the respective pixels, and sets the depth information in the respective pixels based on the routing information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
