PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent sudden sound cutoff without imposing any burdens on the CPU of a main body. SOLUTION: The audio reproduction circuit 10A includes: an input buffer 12 for holding MP3 data DAT, an MP3 decoder 13 for reading and decoding the MP3 data stored in the input buffer 12 by a fixed processing unit and to output sound data VOL; an output buffer 14 for holding the sound data VOl output from the MP3 decoder 13; and a DAC 16 for reading the VOl data from the output buffer 14 in synchronism with a clock signal CK1 to convert it into an audio signal AUD. The audio circuit 10A further includes a sound cutoff detection part 20 for outputting a sound cutoff detection signal DET indicating timing of inputting the MP3 data DAT to the input buffer 12 on the basis of the remaining amount QUO of the MP3 data DAT in the input buffer 12 and the remaining amount QUO of the sound data VOl in the output buffer 14.
