PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electro-optical device which can securely protect a terminal for inspection against moisture or the like, can be made thin in thickness, and is high in mechanical strength. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device 1 has a liquid crystal panel 3, which is constituted by sticking a first light-transmissive substrate 13 and a second light-transmissive substrate 14 together, the substrate 13 having a projection portion 18 that projects from the substrate 14 and the terminal 19 for inspection at the projection part 18 and an image displayed in a display area V; a frame 2 which supports the display panel 3; an external frame 4a which houses the liquid crystal panel 3 and frame 2 and has an opening 25 corresponding to the display area V; and a both-sided adhesive member 28, which is provided in a peripheral area outside the opening 25 and between the external frame 4a and frame 2. The both-sided adhesive member 28 has one surface stuck on the frame 2 and another surface stuck on the external frame 4a, and further, covers the terminal 19 for inspection.
