<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a useful material having active effects superior to those by a conventional technique from Ganoderma lucidum grown on an apple tree. <P>SOLUTION: The extract is prepared by using a dried powder of the Ganoderma lucidum cultured on a medium using a material prepared by forming a pruned branch produced in apple cultivation into a chip shape, i.e. apple Ganoderma lucidum, and extracting the dried powder with hot water. As to the condition of the hot water extraction, for example, 70-80°C and 5-15 min provides satisfactory results.
