摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately read positions of recording parts from results obtained by reading out images recorded by a plurality of recording parts arrayed along a fixed direction by a reading means including a plurality of reading parts arrayed along a fixed direction. <P>SOLUTION: A recording apparatus records a detection mark (refer to A); wherein a plurality of mark parts set so that width W is twice or more the pitch Pr of a cell of a reading sensor, length L satisfies L&ge;(n+1)*V*T (n is an integer &ge;1, V is a paper carrying speed and T is an image reading period) and the width W is increased in each twice or more the pitch Pr are arranged so that mutual centroid positions coincide with each other in the width direction and the mark parts are made to contact with each other in a paper carrying direction; is recorded in a sheet by a position detecting nozzle and right and left nozzles which are the same number of nozzles in both the right and left sides and calculates an average value of centroid positions in n lines in each individual mark part.
