The present invention relates to a method for distinguishing between the emission of light and/or the reflection of light from at least two dyes that are indistinguishable on the basis of their emission and/or reflection wavelength. The method involves at least two measurements being performed. Between the two measurements, the system is subjected to a treatment that alters the fluorescent intensity and/or luminous power of at least one of the dyes. The change of fluorescent intensity or change of luminous power that is characteristic of the dye and is brought about by the treatment between the measurements can be taken as a basis for identifying and/or quantifying the dye and/or the molecule marked thereby. The invention additionally relates to a system for carrying out the method. |
