The device is a rehabilitation device which aids the user is both sitting and standing. It consists of a frame constructed of tubular metal with wheels at the front and feet at the back The upper portion of the frame is articulated-it is able to move in an arch motion around the lower half of the frame, thus giving the device two modes: up and down. The upper portion is affixed to the lower by means of two parallel arms on either side which function as a means to keep the upper frame parallel to the ground throughout the movement. Two pneumatic pistons are affixed at either side, from the lower frame to one of the parallel arms and both pistons are controlled by means of a cable and hand lever. The user is able to rest their weight on the upper portion of the frame, holding onto handles and resting their forearms on the frame. The upper frame moves with them through sitting and standing motions, providing a guide for the movement, support, as well as dampening the downward force when sitting and providing upward force when standing. When the user is standing the device functions as a typical walker, providing support as the user walks.
