The present invention applies to the field of electronic communications and provides an infrared scanning method for a smart mobile terminal. The method comprises: a mobile terminal performs infrared scanning to acquire a vein picture of a finger of a user (101); preprocess the vein picture to obtain a grey level image of the vein picture (102); overlay a standard background image on the grey level image to obtain a grey level image of a mixed image (103); and process the mixed image to obtain a finger vein image (104). The present invention has the advantage of high identification accuracy.
