An event processing method and apparatus, which relate to the technical field of data processing and can reduce memory overheads when a CEP system performs mode matching in a complex scenario. The method comprises: after an Xth event occurs, a state machine instance performs matching in a current matching period (101); when a successful matching result is not obtained, the state machine instance detects whether the number of events that have currently occurred is greater than 1 (102); and if the number of events that have currently occurred is greater than 1, use a time point on which an (X+1)th event occurs as a start time point of a next matching period, and again perform matching in the next matching period (103). The event processing method and apparatus are applicable to a device running a system having a mode matching function. |
