PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform wavefront correction even when a position of a subject eye shifts corresponding thereto.

SOLUTION: A fundus imaging apparatus for imaging a fundus of a subject eye irradiated with light through an illumination optical system includes: a position detection part for detecting a position of a pupil of the subject eye; a wavefront detection part for detecting a wavefront of return light from the subject eye; a correction part for correcting the wavefront of the return light based on the detected wavefront; and a control part for controlling a correction effective region of the correction part based on the detected position.
