A backlight module (100) and a liquid crystal display having the backlight module (100). The backlight module (100) comprises: a back frame (110), comprising a bottom plate (112) and side plates (114) located on two sides of the bottom plate (112) respectively; a plurality of light sources (120), arranged on the bottom plate (112) in an array manner; a plurality of top reflection elements (130), wherein each of the top reflection element (130) is fixed on the corresponding light source (120); and a transparent plate (140), disposed on the side plates (114) , so as to seal the light sources (120) and the top reflection elements (130) between the transparent plate (140) and the back frame (110). LEDs in the backlight module (100) do not need secondary lenses, the quantity is small, and accordingly the production cost is saved. |
