PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vanadium solid salt battery that is enhanced in capacity maintenance rate, coulomb efficiency and energy efficiency.SOLUTION: In a vanadium solid salt battery, a vanadium solid salt containing vanadium ions and/or vanadium, electrolytic solution and a carbon material is contained in a positive electrode or a negative electrode. The carbon material of the positive electrode is carbon material powder on which the R-value obtained by the Raman spectroscopy is not more than 1.10, or the lattice spacing d (d002) measured by the X-ray powder method ranges from 0.33 to 0.36 nm.
