PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform an appropriate adjustment of a frictional force of a friction damper generated in response to an applied load.SOLUTION: A friction damper comprises a first contacting plate 30 arranged at one member of a pair of members, a second contacting plate arranged at the other member of the pair of members, and a third contacting plate 166 slidably contacted with either the first contacting plate or the second contacting plate. The first contacting plate is provided with a first through-hole elongated in a prescribed direction to be slidable as a first moving amount. The second contacting plate is provided with a second through-hole shorter than the first through-hole to be slidable as a second moving amount, the third contacting plate is provided with a third through-hole, has a bolt member inserted and passed through the first through-hole, second through-hole and third through-hole, the plurality of friction dampers have different lengths in a prescribed direction of the second through-hole to set a stepwise second moving amount, the friction dampers slide in a stepwise manner and further the friction dampers are provided with a constant friction generating member. |
