The anchor bracket comprises a rectangular junction plate (22) perforated with an array of parallel slots (32, 34, 36) and provided at one end with fastening means (26) for attachment to a post (12), and a rectangular spacer plate (24) perforated with an array of parallel slots (50, 52, 54) and provided with fastening means (42) for attachment to a metal crash band (16). The spacer plate and the junction plate are juxtaposed and fastened together by at least two bolts (56) engaging respective slots in both plates.
