The present invention relates to a torque converter (100) provided with a front cover (1), an impeller (2), a turbine (3), a lockup member (4), and a piston (5). The front cover (1) has a cylindrical first outer peripheral wall (12). The impeller (2) has a cylindrical second outer peripheral wall (211) affixed to the first outer peripheral wall (12). The turbine (3) is disposed facing the impeller (2). The lockup member (4) extends radially inward from the second outer peripheral wall (211). The piston (5) has a pressing section (511) facing the lockup member (4). Also, the piston (5) is disposed so as to axially move between the front cover (1) and the turbine (3). |
