The invention relates to a method comprising the following steps: a) measuring the position (4) of the high point on a vehicle tire (1) by means of a measuring machine, which measuring machine determines the mass distribution of the vehicle tire (1), b) arranging the vehicle tire (1) on a conveying means (2), wherein the vehicle tire (1) is oriented on the conveying means (2) in such a way that the high point and the axial center point (6) of the vehicle tire (1) lie substantially on a center line (5) of the conveying means (2), c) creating a photo recording or video recording of the vehicle tire (1) lying on the conveying means (2), wherein the relative angular position (13) of the high point of the vehicle tire (1) in relation to an identification means (7) arranged on the sidewall is measured by means of the photo recording or video recording and said relative angular position is stored in a data memory, d) transporting the vehicle tire (1) to an automated marking station, e) marking the measured high point on the vehicle tire by means of the automated marking station, wherein the position (4) of the high point on the vehicle tire (1) is determined by means of the angular position (13) stored in the data memory and then the vehicle tire (1) is provided with an optical marking at said angular position (13). |
