PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a POS terminal apparatus capable of preventing a customer from wasting time by shortening a time required for receiving the payment of change, and mitigating the mental labor of an operator.SOLUTION: A POS terminal apparatus 1 comprises: a tray 17 having a top face on which paper money and coins for sales price payment are placed by a customer; a camera 18 for generating still image data by imaging the top face of the tray 17 and its peripheral area at predetermined time intervals; and a control unit for counting the denominations and numbers of the paper money and coins and calculating an amount received from the customer on the basis of the still image data generated by the camera 18. The still image data generated by the camera 18 is invalidated after a hand extending from a predetermined direction appears in the still image data captured by the camera 18.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
